May 6, 2014 marks the 125th birthday of one of the world’s most iconic structures. The Eiffel Tower has played a role in over 200 films, and been the scene of countless proposals of marriage. La Tour became a beacon of the new era of communications when the first European public radio broadcast was beamed, in 1921, from antennae atop the spire. Today, a webcam celebrates the vision.
