We’re thrilled that the research brief “Evaluating Leadership Development in Early Care and Education,” which we co-authored with our research partners Mathematica and the Office Of Planning, Research & Evaluation (OPRE) was among the 10 most-downloaded publications from OPRE’s website in 2022.

The brief explores different approaches to developing leaders in center-based care and education settings, seeking to identify and evaluate actionable programs and methods. It highlights seven ECE leadership development initiatives and looks at next steps for evaluating and strengthening ECE leadership development.

“Evaluating Leadership Development in Early Care and Education” landed at number 10 on OPRE’s list, which you can see here.

This research was conducted as part of the Early Care and Education Leadership Study (ExCELS), a multi-phase project now in its fifth and final year, which seeks to help the early childhood field understand how effective leaders can improve quality experiences for children in ECE settings.
