End of Semester Extension

While it is certainly warmer this week, the effects of snow days early in the semester are still being felt. Due to the multiple cancellations in January and February, the following changes have been made to the end of the semester, impacting deadlines and activities that occur this week, specifically:

  • The last day of classes was changed from Wednesday, May 13 to Friday, May 15.

  • Friday, May 15 is also the last day to for university withdrawal from the spring 2015 semester. If you wish to withdraw from the entire semester (all current courses), you should see your academic advisor before Friday. Withdrawing from all of your classes has serious academic and financial consequences and we want to help you if you are in this situation.  You should also consult with the Bursar’s Office (http://www.umb.edu/bursar) regarding the financial implications of this decision and the Office of Financial Aid, if applicable (http://www.umb.edu/admissions/financial_aid_scholarships).

  • Thursday, May 14th will serve as a make-up day for classes that ordinarily meet on Tuesdays & Friday, May 15th will serve as a make-up day for classes that ordinarily meet on Mondays. The make-up days are optional, and may be used at the discretion of each course faculty member, who should notify students if the days will or will not be used.

  • All campus services, including dining and shuttle buses, will operate during their usual hours until May 15. Healey Library will be open from 7:30 am to 11:00 pm.

Best of luck during this last week of the semester and during finals!
