Making the most of your summer job/internship— Are you currently working in a job or internship this summer and wondering how to make the most of it with regard to your future career? If so, you should attend this helpful workshop to learn how to leverage your summer experience. We will cover topics including ways to impress your supervisor and colleagues, how to write about your experience on your resume, ways to effectively network on the job, how to get a recommendation from your supervisor, and ways to increase your chances of receiving a full-time job offer after graduation. Job Search and Application Process-– The job search and application process can sometimes be confusing and overwhelming. This workshop will teach you how to navigate UMass Boston’s My Career Online as well as how to effectively search the major Internet job databases and apply on company websites. You will also learn about applicant tracking systems and why the use of key words on your resume and cover letter is critical in your job search. Lastly, you will gain an understanding the job application process all the way from applying for jobs through receiving an offer.
