SPECIFIC DESCRIPTION: Organizational Conflict Resolution and Negotiation
Whether you are negotiating for a higher salary as an entry level employee or working on a complex merger and acquisition as a senior executive, negotiating is a constant part of our organizational life. This course provides an in-depth introduction to the theories and best practices of negotiation and conflict resolution in modern organizations. Using a combination of current and classical readings, case studies, and role-play exercises, students will learn to identify the root causes of conflicts within and between organizations and develop the analytical and behavioral skills necessary to resolve them. The course will draw from individual student experiences and include research projects that apply the course theory to a contemporary organizational case study.
