The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program is looking for volunteers for the spring!

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) is a service program that helps low to moderate-income households complete their income tax returns for free. VITA relies heavily on volunteer tax counselors, and it is the hard work of volunteers that has made our program a success every year. With the tax refunds that they receive, our clients can pay their heating bills, avoid evictions and foreclosures, fix their vehicles, and even save money for emergencies. They are grateful for the service provided by VITA. Last year, our organization Quincy Community Action Programs, Inc. (QCAP) helped over 600 households claim a total of $1.2 million in federal and state tax refunds. Next winter, QCAP will hold its 12th VITA program.

If you are interested in serving as a volunteer tax counselor for our VITA program and would like to learn more about it, kindly email isarmiento@qcap.org to find out more information. Information will follow shortly about trainings, volunteer schedules, and other matters.

If you are interested in volunteering for the VITA program please email isarmiento@qcap.org.   Please note, this experience is eligible for MAP miles, however, volunteers must complete the program prior to earning credit.
