Comments Off on Add-Drop is now over for the Fall 2014 semester

Add-Drop is now over for the Fall 2014 semester

Tuesday, September 9 was the last day to be able to add a course for the semester, or to be able to drop a course without a “W”.  If Wiser shows that you are still on a wait list for the fall semester, you can either drop yourself from that wait list, or not – it actually doesn’t matter at this time since Wiser will no longer be adding students to courses from the wait list through it’s automated process.  If you are still on a waitlist, you should also stop attending that course (if you haven’t stopped already).

The next chance to register for classes that you might not have gotten into this semester is on Monday, November 3 for Spring 2015 semester courses. Best wishes for a great fall semester!

Comments Off on The Student Managed Fund is now AF 444 – and has seats this semester!

The Student Managed Fund is now AF 444 – and has seats this semester!

For the past few students, students who were interested in taking a class in the Student Managed Fund would enroll in AF 478, as Special Topics course.  This past spring, the Provost’s Office approved this special topics course section to become a full, regularly offered class with a new course number and title: AF 444 Assess Management Practicum.  This course will be run the same way past sections of AF 478 Special Topics: Student Managed Fund has been taught and offered.

If you are interested in taking this course, please enroll into AF 444 for the fall semester.  AF 444 is taught at the same time and by the same professor as the AF 478 course.

Days/Time: Monday  5:30PM – 8:15PM
Professor: Arindam Bandopadhyaya
Course Registration Number: 16920
Pre-requisites: AF 301 and 60 credits

AF 444 will satisfy a finance concentration elective course for students in that concentration; or a general elective course for any undeclared student, or student with a concentration other than finance.

If you are interested in this course, and have met the pre-requisites, please enroll on Wiser by Tuesday, September 9.  If you need assistance with you registration, please complete an online registration form or talk with your advisor.

Comments Off on GETTING ENROLLED INTO A FULL COURSE

GETTING ENROLLED INTO A FULL COURSE

Once a class is full, we allow wiser to automatically work through the waitlist whenever a seat opens up.  Occasionally, faculty will allow extra students into the course, over the prescribed capacity.  The CM Undergraduate Program Office must hear directly from the instructor if s/he wants to take extra students, and how many.  Even with the professor’s permission to add extra students, not everyone from the waitlist will be able to be moved into the course.  If you are able to get a seat in the course through the regular waitlist process or through a professor consenting to adding students to the course, you will see this reflected on Wiser (your status will got from “waiting” to “enrolled”).  Please note that when adding extra students, they are moved in the waitlist order using the same parameters noted above, and students must be on the waitlist before they can be added to the course.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

–       We will strive to have over-enrollment requests handled by the same time on the next business day.  Please check wiser to check on the status of this.  Also, please bear in mind that the time an instructor tells you s/he will contact us, and the time we get the actual request may be different times, sometimes even different days.

–       We do not notify students of these registration changes when they happen; please keep checking Wiser.

–       Please note that to be fair to all students, we cannot move a student ahead of other waiting students.  We accommodate students in the order of the waitlists for over enrollment issues.

–       The last day to add a course this semester is SEPTEMBER 9. If you are not enrolled in a course by this date, there is no need for you to continue attending the course, as you will not be able to be added after this date.
