Our Partners

Project Beacon is partnering with Quincy, Brockton, and Lawrence Public Schools to support our shared goal of meeting mental health needs in schools, and training and retaining ethnically and linguistically diverse school-based mental health providers.

Quincy Public Schools is located in the city of Quincy, a coastal city in the Norfolk Country, Massachusetts. Quincy Public Schools serves a total of 9891 students distributed in 11 elementary schools, 5 middle schools, and 2 high schools. Quincy Public Schools serves students that culturally and linguistically diverse with 39.8% students identifying as Asian, 39.3% as White, 7.9% as African American/Black, 7.9% as Hispanic or Latino, 4% as Multi-Race, and 0.5% as Native Hawaiian and American Indian. Approximately 66% are considered high needs (ex. low income, English learners, identified with a disability).

Brockton Public Schools is located in the city of Brockton, Massachusetts. Brockton Public Schools serves a total of 15000 students distributed in 12 Elementary, 8 middle schools, 6 high schools. This district serves students that culturally and linguistically diverse with 59.3% of its students identifying as Black/African American, 20.2% Hispanic or Latino, 13.6% White, 4.7% Multi-Race, 1.8% Asian, and 0.4% Native American and Native Hawaiian. Brockton Public Schools’ mission is to “ensure student success by fulfilling the educational, social and emotional needs of all students in the pursuit of instructional excellence”.

Lawrence Public Schools is located in the city of Lawrence, Massachusetts. Lawrence Public Schools serves a total of 12867 students, with 94.2% of them identifying as Hispanic or Latino, and 92.3% of the students are placed in the category of high needs. These students are distributed in 17 elementary schools, 5 middle schools and 4 high schools. Lawrence Public Schools makes an effort to cultivate community and family partnerships to improve student outcomes, in addition to their commitment to educational and behavioral supports.
