How to Apply
Beacon Fellowship Application
1. Apply to School Psychology M.Ed/Ed.S or Counseling M.Ed with the school adjustment concentration (either in-person or on-line).
- School Psychology M.Ed/Ed.S Application is due by December 1st, 2024.
- Counseling M.Ed Application deadline is February 15th, 2025.
- You will need to submit a CV and personal statement.
2. Complete the Beacon Fellow Application
- You will need to prepare a short essay following this prompt: “In 500 words or less, please describe why you want to become a Project Beacon Fellow.” Be sure to include how being a Fellow connects with your past experiences and future goals.
- Beacon Fellow Applications are due on February 15th.
3. Finalists will be invited for an interview with a faculty member from Project Beacon.
- This interview will be remote and will last for about an hour.
4. Accepted Beacon Fellows will receive notification by March 15.

Fellowship Ideal Qualifications
- A minimum 3.0 undergraduate program GPA
- Identifies as being ethnically/linguistically diverse or from a historically minoritized background
- Intention to work in high needs schools
