Beacon Fellowship
How to Apply
We are Project Beacon, an innovative training partnership between UMass Boston and three high needs school districts in Massachusetts: Brockton, Lawrence, and Quincy Public Schools.
Our goal is to prepare school psychologists and school counselors from diverse backgrounds to work in high-needs schools, increasing students’ access to school mental health services. We are looking for Beacon Fellows who are interested in completing their training as school psychologists and school counselors at UMass Boston.
We plan to address school mental health provider shortages in Brockton, Lawrence, and Quincy Public Schools by preparing cohorts of culturally, linguistically, and racially diverse Fellows to engage in Transformative Social Emotional Learning (TSEL) , implement culturally and linguistically inclusive mental health services, and engage in advocacy on behalf of youth.
Leadership Team
Project Beacon is led by a dedicated team of faculty, advisory board members, and graduate assistants.
