Monday’s Visitors

This Monday we were happy to welcome several members of the Nipmuc Nation to the Sarah Boston Site. Archaeologist and Nipmuc Historic Preservation Officer, Rae Gould, brought the group out to the site to see the Sarah Boston cellar feature and meet the field school crew. We had such a nice visit with them and I know that the excavation team was really encouraged by the support and interest of the Nipmuc community. Thank you all for coming! As it turns out, one of the visitors to the site was photographer Scott “Strong Hawk” Foster, and he was kind enough to share some of his beautiful photographs of the day! I’ll just show a few for now, but stay tuned for more in coming posts!

  1. Yes, it was a great experience spending time with Dr. Mrozowski and the rest of the Hassanamesit Woods Project Team!

Thanks again for the time your team spent explaining the history and progress of the Sarah Boston Archaeological Project. It was very interesting and important to the Nipmuc Nation.

Your dedication to the project and passion for history filled the site during our visit. I look forward to our visit to the UMB Fiske Center at the end of July!

    Best wishes,

    Scott “Strong Hawk” Foster
