Entrepreneur Workforce Development

Career development for the entrepreneur economy

The Premise Behind This Blog

The current economy does not enable the entrepreneur start up  community to produce the quantity or financial level of IPO’s and acquisitions as it did years ago. At the same time, our economy still requires that we produce a quantity of successful start up businesses with successful investment and liquidity events. The expectations of the general workforce must move away from the feeling of entitlement to working for a few years and cashing in their stock options. The workforce for the start up marketplace needs to migrate toward a workforce motivated by the chance to learn, participate, and grow long term in a professional career.

With this in mind, this blog will be about how UMass Boston, the only public and urban four year university in Boston, is becoming a significant producer of interns and employees for the entrepreneur start up company workforce in the Boston area.
