In 1891, David Porter Vincent was issued a patent for his invention of a bicycle frame that minimized jostling, which in turn created a sturdier, safer frame. The patent includes written specifications on the invention and figures. This is a digital copy of a photograph that was found with the patent. It appears to be an image of David Vincent Porter holding the patent.
