University Archives and Special Collections in the Healey Library at UMass Boston is excited to start collecting community submissions of cycling jersey, t-shirt, artifact, and bicycle images and information. View community submissions of cycling jersey, t-shirt, artifact, and bicycle images here.
This will tell the story of cycling in a unique way and help to develop the sense of a cycling community, going back in time. You have an opportunity for your images to become part of that story.

Before you upload and describe your jersey or t-shirt images, your artifact images, or your bicycle images in the form below, please review the following guidelines.
Photograph Preparation (Jerseys and T-Shirts)
- Before photographing the jersey or t-shirt, please be sure that there as few wrinkles as possible on the item.
- Find a flat, monochromatic surface on which to photograph the jersey or t-shirt.
- Lay the jersey or t-shirt flat.
- Take separate photographs of the FRONT and BACK of the jersey or t-shirt.
Photograph Preparation (Artifacts, such as Trophies, Badges, Buttons, Etc.)
- When photographing the artifact, try to minimize glare from lights, windows, or flash (on your camera).
- You may submit up to three (3) digital photographs of a single artifact (such as the front, back, and a detail/close-up image).
Photograph Preparation (Bicycles)
- You may submit up to three (3) digital photographs of a single bicycle (such as the front, back, and a detail/close-up image).
Image Files to Upload
- For the purposes of this documentation project, please upload high-resolution JPG files (please do not edit, correct, crop, or enhance images prior to upload).
- Each different cycling jersey, t-shirt, or artifact should be uploaded and described through a separate submission.
Naming the Files Before Uploading
- Jerseys and T-Shirts: To help us track your files correctly in our system, please include _front as part of the file name for the image that is the Front of the Cycling Jersey/T-Shirt and _back as part of the file name for the image that is the Back of the Cycling Jersey/T-Shirt.
- Artifacts: To help us track your files correctly in our system, please include _image1 as part of the file name for the image that you are uploading as Image 1 of Cycling-Related Artifact, _image2 as part of the file name for the image that you are uploading as Image 2 of Cycling-Related Artifact, and _image3 as part of the file name for the image that you are uploading as Image 3 of Cycling-Related Artifact.
- Bicycles: To help us track your files correctly in our system, please include _image1 as part of the file name for the image that you are uploading as Image 1 of Bicycle, _image2 as part of the file name for the image that you are uploading as Image 2 of Bicycle, and _image3 as part of the file name for the image that you are uploading as Image 3 of Bicycle.
