Welcome From Urban Scholar Alumnus: Quanye Hoskins
I am Quanye, an artist, a scholar, and a Tech Boston Academy graduate. I will be attending Massachusetts College of Art and Design in the fall, and I plan on studying Illustration and Graphic Design.
During my time at Urban Scholars, I have taken part in a couple of projects:
- InTransit: Voices and Visions, which was a community art project around the theme of journey. It involved interviewing fellow citizens of Boston and capturing their experiences and what journey means for them. My fellow students and I designed posters that made their way onto the MBTA Red and Orange Line trains.
- The Marble Collection (TMC) Teen Publication Workshop, which pairs Massachusetts high school teens with college student mentors who provide editorial feedback to prepare them for publication in the TMC magazine.
You can find out more about these projects at these sites:

I aspire to be an artist and designer in the future. Artists and designers job are important: every artificial thing we interact with has been designed by someone, and it’s important for us to think about how his/her design affects others. I plan to excel at MassArt, challenge myself, and push out of my comfort zone to try new things.
