Project REACH Summer 2014
Project REACH (Realizing Educational And Career Hopes) kicks off the summer portion of their yearly educational program on Monday, July 7. Project REACH is a Talent Search program that assists scholars from disadvantaged backgrounds which includes low-income students, disabled students, and English Language Learners (ELL).
Last summer, Jennie and I got to learn so much about the potential this program sees within each of its students, who get the opportunity to partake in engaging, interactive, and non-traditional activities over the summer. Jennie and I got to speak with director, Andrea Dawes, who said: “[she] is very happy to have the students back this summer.” The students will be busy learning and having fun, especially since the program has added a health and nutrition class to its curriculum which incorporates their community garden.
Jennie and I are really looking forward to blogging about this exceptional program again, and we wish them the best of luck this summer. It is our pleasure and honor to welcome them back.
