Graduate Medical Sciences (GMS) at Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM) is a recognized leader in research and graduate education in the biomedical sciences. Our programs span across the medical sciences, mental health counseling and behavioral medicine, clinical research and other scientific and health services-oriented disciplines. Programs for underrepresented minority (URM) students include the Post-baccalaureate Research Education Program (BU PREP)— a year-long preparatory program for recent bachelor’s degree recipients; Summer Training as Research Scholars (STaRS) – a summer research program to academically talented students who aspire to become medical or research scientists.
