In addition to our stand-alone graduate programs, our graduate students are also given the opportunity to participate in interdisciplinary programs including Quantitative Biology and Material Research (MRSEC). If you are interested in studying Soft Materials, please visit our Soft Materials website.
Students interested in applying for Fall 2020 admission should submit an application through our Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, which will be available in mid-September. Interested applicants are advised to take note of the program application deadlines, as many of our PhD program deadlines are in December 2019.

Summer undergraduate research:
Every summer we have 100-120 undergraduates on campus doing research, including students from Brandeis and from other institutions.
Brandeis plans to offer an REU in Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC) in 2020.
The application for this REU program is located on our website.
Brandeis University seeks qualified applicants for an NSF-funded Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program in the Physical Sciences for a 10-week period beginning in summer 2020. The program includes housing costs, a meal allowance and a stipend. Participants in the program must be US citizens or permanent residents and should have at least rising sophomore (MRSEC) standing at an accredited undergraduate college or university. We especially welcome applications from students of under-represented groups in science, or who come from economically-disadvantaged backgrounds (for example, first-generation college students), or who come from academic institutions with limited resources for research, or who are students with disabilities (i.e. a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities). More information about these programs can be found on our summer research website.
