Local 201 Oral History Project

In celebration of their ninetieth anniversary, Local 201 partnered with UMass Boston to launch an oral history project in January of 2023.

The project is co-directed by Local 201 retiree Frank Emspak (Professor Emeritus, University of Wisconsin School of Labor Education) and UMass Boston’s Nick Juravich (Assistant Professor of History and Labor Studies), who conducted interviews along with UMass Boston students Layanie Oscar, Scott Richardson, and Kristen Thompson. Student interviewers were supported with funding from the UMass Boston Labor Resource Center and History Department. For more information on the Local 201 History Project, email Nick Juravich at nicholas.juravich@umb.edu.
