Camp Shriver: Award Ceremony

Camp Shriver: Award Ceremony

On Friday, July 31, Camp Shriver celebrated their last day with an awards ceremony to commemorate the achievements of every camper. Mark Spolidoro was awarded a new whistle for leading the program into its tenth year here at UMass Boston, and many counselors were cheered on for their work and commitment to the students.

Campers received awards which had superlatives such as:  “Most Likely to Give You a Hug” , “Most Athletic”, “The Best Whip and ‘Nae-Nae’” , “Most Likely to Wear A Hoodie”, and “Princess Shriver Award.”

As the event came to a close, the campers, counselors, and the directors all came together to have some cake, and finished their year on a “sweet” note.

I was honored to be a part of this wonderful event and it was a pleasure covering them this summer.
