Project ALERTA: Summer 2014
Project ALERTA, a youth program at UMass Boston that serves students from grades 3 – 5, kicked off its program on Monday, June 30. During the summer, the program meets for four weeks where they conduct fun and educational activities that pertain to a specific yearly theme. Last summer, Jennie and I had the opportunity to meet some of the staff and students of this amazing program. This summer, we got to meet the program’s new director, Marc Tangvik, who said: “he is blown away by all the students’ hard work and enthusiasm.” The program will follow its rigorous academic-based curriculum, which includes collaborations with the Talented and Gifted (TAG) Latino Program.
Jennie and I are excited to report on this prestigious program again, and we wish them luck on having an amazing summer. It is our pleasure and honor to welcome them back.
