Massachusetts Life Sciences Center 2017 Internship Challenge

SUMMER INTERNSHIPS!!

If you are interested in an internship for Summer 2017 NOW is the time for you to create a professional resume and cover letter and apply to the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) Internship Challenge Program.

The Massachusetts Life Sciences Center is excited to announce the launch of the 2017 Internship Challenge! This year-round workforce development program focuses on enhancing the talent pipeline for Massachusetts life sciences companies by providing students and recent college graduates with hands-on work experience through internship opportunities at life sciences companies. A core component of the MLSC’s strong commitment to workforce preparedness, the program creates hundreds of new internships each year by enabling small companies to hire paid interns. Since 2009, the MLSC has facilitated the placement of nearly 2,800 interns at more than 600 companies across the Commonwealth.

This round of the program will run from May 1, 2017 through April 30, 2018. Participating companies will be given access to a robust, searchable database of hundreds of resumes submitted by students and recent graduates. Candidates are then hired as interns and paid directly by companies. Upon conclusion of the internship, the MLSC reimburses each company for intern stipends.

The MLSC will reimburse eligible companies up to $8,160 per intern (based on a pay rate of up to $17/hour for 12 weeks). Internships can be part time or full time and take place any time during the program year. Larger companies are welcome to recruit students through the program, but will not be eligible for reimbursement.

Interns must be Massachusetts residents or attend a Massachusetts college/university and be completing at least their freshman year prior to the start of the internship. Students enrolled in a two-year/community college/certificate program, students pursuing a Master’s Degree, and recent graduates that completed their degree/certificate within the past year are also eligible.

The application portal is now open and can be found at  www.masslifesciences.com/programs/internship
