Strategic Planning Group Meeting Notes

The Pension Action Center is currently engaging in a Strategic Planning Process, and we have convened a national panel of experts, including retirement researchers, human resources experts, ERISA attorneys, and pension advocates, to assist us in this effort. The group’s first meeting took place on February 24th, 2016.

The members of the Strategic Planning Group are as follows: Ellen Bruce, Founder – Pension Action Center and Former Gerontology Institute Director, UMass Boston; Karen Friedman, Executive Vice President and Policy Director – Pension Rights Center, Washington, DC; Nancy G. Gerseny, CEBS, CPC, CFP(r) – Retirement Plans Manager, CVS Caremark; Maria O’Brien Hylton, J.D., Professor of Law – Boston University School of Law; Alicia Munnell, Director – Center for Retirement Research, Peter F. Drucker Professor of Management Sciences – Boston College; Todd Solomon, Esq. – McDermott, Will & Emery, LLP; Christian Weller, Ph.D. – Department of Public Policy and Public Affairs, John W. McCormick Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies, UMass Boston; Len Fishman, Director – Gerontology Institute, John W. McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies, UMass Boston; Jeanne Medeiros, Esq., Director – Pension Action Center, and Louise Cataldo, Outreach and Development Coordinator, Pension Action Center.

We greatly appreciate the time, expertise and commitment that the SPG has made as we explore new approaches that will strengthen academic connections, foster policy work and develop a path for financial sustainability.

The Group will meet again in May. We look forward to implementing the strategic plan that results.
