Hello everyone! I’m glad to say that the wiki project of Spectacle Island is almost fully completed only missing the page’s editing to be done. I am happy to say that I happily made it through the complexities of this project. And getting ready to start writing the final paper. 🙂
Here I am still working on this wiki page that so far seem very attention catching. I feel like a pro now!!! YAY!! I have accomplished the hardest task work with the codes!! : )
Today was the beginning of this project that seemed very complicated in the beginning. Now I feel that is taking a completely different course. I feel more at ease since I have come in contact with the group members which is one(Melissa Kelley) aside from myself.
I think that the first challenge I faced was contacting the members of the group so we would arrange what tasks each wanted to do, now is completely easier since its only two people working. I feel that we are both going to have the same level of effort put into the project. The internet tools that we are using is the Spectacle Island wikipage to start our project on and the zeemaps site to create our map mashup. We are using instant messaging to communicate our ideas to each other about the project which is very convenient because at the speed that each one receives the message (instantly!). So far I think we have all the type of internet access of tools at hand, perhaps later as the wiki project progresses the story will change…until next time bloggers (that next time will be soon!) : )
Hello Everyone! I am so far catching up to how mashups work. I believe I have a better understanding of how they seem to be used in almost all the technology I come across. Perhaps, I’m wrong but I think this technology is used alot in cell phones for applications that allow one to scan a barcode in stores and find other stores that offer the product. This technology is amazing and I think that it can be very helpful to future generations of internet users.
So far this mashup business is more completed than what I thought. From what I’ve read and researched its all about the linking of web applications to work together with specific programs (all of this is like a new language to me). I know I have to experiment with it a little more in order to get in with the hang of it, but so far I’m understanding the basics which for me is a great improvement.
I am what I call a technology novice ! The topic of mashups was like that secret kept from the world to me. I had no idea what was it used for. Now I know pretty much what it is, but still don’t know how to use it… that sucks..
Good Morning Everyone!!! This is my first shot working with blogs, this is a new topic to my internet experience… and so far it seems very complicated. I hope I can manage to work my way around the application and establish a good cybernetic communication with my online classmates!
