The university libraries support the campus’ academic pursuits, providing resources and staff to guide constituents in the complex process of discovery and effective use of informational materials.
The university libraries also facilitate important conversations on scholarly communication, copyright, research, teaching, and learning in higher education, shaping the future of academic scholarship.
All UMB reference librarians can assist you with your research. For questions about business databases at the Healey Library, feel free to contact UMB librarian, Janet Stewart (Janet.Stewart@umb.edu).
Library Barcode
A Healey Library barcode is your access key to the library’s rich assortment of resources.
Note: your Healey Library barcode is different from your student ID or UMS number.
How do I get a library barcode?
On-campus students, faculty, and staff should go to the Circulation Desk with their UMass Boston ID card. Library staff will place a unique barcode sticker on the reverse of the ID card.
Students taking classes off-campus, may call the Circulation Desk at 617-287-5900 to be assigned a barcode over the phone. They may also email library.circulation@umb.edu. Please be sure to include your first and last name, and your UMS number so we can properly identify you in our system. A barcode number will be e-mailed to you. All online and off-campus classes will be verified by the circulation staff.
