WELCOME
Welcome to the PhD in Business Administration Program at UMass Boston’s College of Management. This guide has been assembled to assist with bringing you on-board as a new doctoral student as UMass Boston.
About the College of Management
The College of Management (CM) is UMass Boston’s second largest college, with more than 2,000 students enrolled in undergraduate programs and nearly 600 studying in graduate programs. Research plays an important role in the life of the College and informs many aspects of our programs.
Our current PhD in Business Administration students are engaged in research that has been presented at conferences nationally and internationally. The program students take a series of core courses common to all CM PhD tracks of study, as well as take courses specific to their distinct tracks of study: Organizations & Social Change, Finance, and Management Information Systems (launching in 2016).
Students in our Masters programs have the opportunity to engage in high level business research with the completion of discipline related thesis (Masters Thesis Option). Our masters programs include the Master of Science in Accounting, Master of Business Administration, the Master of Science in Finance, the Master of Science in Information Technology, and the Master of Science in International Management.
Our senior undergraduate students also have the opportunity to pursue business research through a Senior Honors Thesis, sponsored by a CM faculty member. Past collaborations have led to a work that was published in an academic journal, or in a journal of practice for executives, managers and policy-makers at the leading edge of business. Undergraduate Programs include the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and the Bachelor of Science in Management.
We welcome you to our tradition of high level business research at the College of Management.
