The following are UMB-wide policies.  The College of Management endeavors to cover full tuition related to your degree program and a majority of fees.  Please note that all summer courses are offered through UMB’s College of Professional and Advancing Studies and are not covered by your fellowship benefit.

Deposit (Acceptance of Admittance)

A deposit of $250 is due to the Graduate Admissions Office at time of acceptance of the offer to the PhD program.  This deposit will be applied to any outstanding fees posted to your Bursar’s Office account.  Should there be a credit balance on your account after the add/drop deadline for the semester, you may request a refund of the credit balance on-line or in-person from the Office of the Bursar.

Health Insurance

All full-time students are required to have health insurance coverage.  Full-time students are automatically enrolled in the University’s Student Health Insurance for the academic year.  Students may waive this insurance coverage if proof of health insurance coverage is provided to the Office of the Bursar.  For current health insurance fees or waiver forms, please visit the bursar’s office website at: http://www.umb.edu/bursar

Other Academic Expenses

In planning your budget, please be aware that there are other expenses related to your PhD studies that are not covered by your fellowship.  These expenses may include course books, software packages, printing charges, etc.
