Today, with everyone expected to use computer systems regardless of personal background or level of expertise, universities must provide their community with access to the most current technology and equip them with the knowledge to make full use of its potential.

Questions and concerns regarding UMB technology should be directed to the Information Technology Helpdesk at 617-287-5220 or by email at ITserviceDesk@umb.edu.

Answers to common questions can also be found on their website at http://www.umb.edu/it.

Bloomberg/New Technology Lab

Bloomberg terminals are computers that combine news feeds, trading figures, videos, and historical data to help students understand the volatile world of the stock market. The machines are housed in the new College of Management Research Laboratory, tucked away in a soundproof room on the third floor of the Joseph P. Healey Library.

Bloomberg/New Technology Lab is located at the 3rd floor of Healey Library (#3-008, behind the IT help desk): 12 Bloomberg terminals are available. The Bloomberg/New Technology Lab is available to College of Management students.

Graduate Research Center

The GRC is located on the fifth floor of the Library, Room 025 (the right corridor off the elevators) and is designed for graduate students, staff and faculty. The lab provides a quiet environment for writing and research. The lab contains windows computers that are equipped with word processing, spreadsheet presentation, statistical, and desktop publishing software; the computers also provide access to email, the internet, and printers.
