More than 250 guests attended a “Summit to Fight Fraud” organized by the Gerontology Institute’s Pension Action Center at UMass Boston on March 19, 2024. The event, sponsored by Investor Protection Trust and co-presented by the Massachusetts Securities Division, featured multiple panels with experts on best practices for avoiding fraud and scams.

Massachusetts Secretary of State William Galvin welcomed attendees and stressed the importance of protecting your identity and financial resources because much of today’s fraud occurs beyond the reach of state and federal jurisdiction. 

The hybrid event allowed for in-person sessions as well as remote attendance, including watch parties at several agencies on aging across the Commonwealth. The five-hour program was recorded; access the video recordings here.
