• Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) was created as a branch of the Community Action Network which came about as a result of the passage of the Economic Opportunity Act that was signed into law in 1964. The 1964 law was intended to to improve the lives of all Americans, regardless of their circumstances.
• ABCD has programs for various needs of Boston residents and those who make up the Greater Boston Area regarding education, housing, food, health etc.
