About Register
You may enroll a student in a class on the Quick Enroll page. Note that the student must have been term-activated for the semester for you to register him/her. If a student has a hold (negative service indicator) other than an advising hold, the negative service indicator will first have to be removed by the appropriate department.
Step 1 – Click on:
- Navigator
- Menu
- Records and Enrollment
- Enroll Students
- Quick Enroll a Student
The “Quick Enroll” search page will open with the “Add a New Value” Tab selected.
Step 2 – Enter Information
- Enter the student’s 8-digit ID number.
- Select the student’s Academic Career.
- The Academic Institution should default to UMBOS.
- Click on Look Up.
- Click on the link to the term in which you are enrolling the student.
If the correct term code is not listed, you will not be able to enroll the student. You should direct him/her to the One Stop, Upper Level, Campus Center.
Step 3 – Next click on “Add“
The Class Enrollment tab of the Quick Enrollment page will appear.
Step 4 – Enter Class Number
If you know the class number of the section for which you are registering the student:
〉Enter it in the Class Nbr field.
〉Press the Tab key and verify that you entered the correct number.
If you do not have the class number:
〉Click on the and enter appropriate search criteria for the course.
〉Click to select the course section.
Note: For some classes with labs, you may need to enter both the class number of the lab section and the class number of the lecture and/or discussion section. Enter the class number of the enrollable section, which may be the lab, in the Class Nbr field. Then select the second and possibly third-class numbers in the Related Class 1 and Related Class 2 fields.
Step 5 – Enroll Student
To enroll the student in a second class, click the Blue ➕ sign to add a new row to the Class Enrollment record and follow step 5. Repeat for each class.
Step 6 – When you have finished adding all classes, click on the “Submit” button.
Step 7 – Review Changes
Review the results next to the Sect. (Section Number) for each class from this messages:
〉Success: “Student is enrolled in this class“
〉Messages – Student is enrolled; click to review informational message.
〉Errors – Student is not enrolled; click to review error message and suggestions for additional action.
After reviewing the errors/messages, click on Cancel to return to the Class Enrollment page.
To override an error, click the appropriate tab to enter the override for each class to which it applies. For example:
〉To enter a permission number – Other “Class Info” tab.
〉To put a student on the waiting list – “Class Overrides” tab
〉Time conflict – “General Overrides” tab
〉Requisites – “General Overrides” tab
Note: Not every user will have security access to override. Click on the “Submit” button again.
Step 8. Successfully Enrolled
Repeat steps 5 – 7 until the student is successfully enrolled in all classes
Step 9. Print Student Schedules
To print the student’s schedule, click the “Study List” link at the bottom of the Quick Enroll page.
Step 10. Print Student Schedules
Click the “Printer Friendly” Page link at the bottom of the page.
Step 11. Print Student Schedules
From the File menu at the top of your web browser, select “Page Setup” and change the orientation to Landscape.
Step 12. Print Student Schedules
Select “Print” from the File menu at the top of your web browser. Remember to change the page orientation back to Portrait.
