Several have asked if the VDC labs and offices are swing or surge space. Our external sponsors who have paid for the construction have restricted the space to venture development.

The VDC offices and labs are for those who recognize an opportunity to introduce something valuable, and who need our assistance to raise the necessary money, assemble the team and organize an operation to exploit the opportunity.

Faculty who are creating a new program, consortia, center, organization, product, process or company are welcome to take advantage of our development program, and oh by the way, also work in a great space, a temporary home away from home.

There will also be external entities in the Venture Development Center. They will be there because they want to partner with our faculty, staff and students.

The labs and offices are available to internal and external partners for a month to month affordable, flexible, inclusive fee. The fee recovers the university’s cost to deliver the VDC’s development program.
