The activity in the VDC will most likely follow the kind of research done on campus. Most assume this activity will be in science, which is understandable.

The latest data on research and development expenditures show that at our sister institutions, research is heavily in science, for example, 93% of the expenditures at Dartmouth and 85% at Lowell. But they are only 28% of research and development on the Boston campus, as you can see below.
