Throughout the iStrong course, students learned about how various parts of the environment work together as a system. These parts range from climate, to pollution on land and in water, to learning about the functions of the carbon cycle. During this summer session, we facilitated iStrong as a discussion and applications based course to allow students to learn about how to protect the world we live in by holding themselves, their peers, families, and other community leaders accountable.
Student Projects
Students completed a Climate Solutions Project, with the goal of reducing heat-trapping gases by 10,000lbs. In the slideshows presented on this page, student project designs allowed them to create solutions that can be realistically implemented in the near future in their school or community if given the opportunity. Ranging from incentive based programs in communities for energy efficiency and waste reduction, to cleaner methods of transportation, we are excited to share these bright ideas developed by our students.
