Assistant Professor of Applied Linguistics Kimberly Urbanski whose areas of expertise are Sociocultural Theory, L2 Literacy, Gesture, Cognitive Linguistics, Systemic Functional Linguistics organized Sociocultural Theory reading group. SCT reading group meets every week throughout the fall and spring semesters that encourages doctoral and graduate students to be familiar with cutting-edge research in the field and present their critical views on new books, articles, and concepts about Vygotsky’s Sociocultural Theory.
