At the 28th annual Lavender Languages and Linguistics Conference in Catania, Sicily, Julia Donnelly Spiegelman presented a slice of her dissertation: results from an online survey of non-binary high school students in the U.S., focused on the varied and creative strategies students used to navigate grammatical gender in their French and Spanish foreign language classrooms. The presentation was enthusiastically received by fellow students and scholars in queer linguistics research.
