TAG’s Pa’Lante Conference

The Talented and Gifted Latino Program (TAG) hosted its Pa’Lante Conference on Friday, July 19th. The Conference was a unique college fair that was developed by TAG alumni. It featured workshops on diverse careers by professionals in the field that included John Barros who is running for Mayor of Boston. He spoke to the students about his experience working in the community and being involved in Massachusetts politics. It also featured Jimmy Becker who is the founder of Your Money Matters and he spoke about the importance of knowing how to manage your money, saving for college and financial aid. Lastly, they had Lynette Correa who is the founder/CEO of Career Coaching for Kids (CC4kidz) who presented her workshop on dressing for success and interviewing. One of the students, Rudibel Alcantara said, “I liked the Pa’Lante Conference because I learned how to manage my money better and how to save it for when I go to college in the future.” [post contributed by Eileen Lara, Youth Development Coordinator, TAG]
