Boston Medical Center’s pediatric neurology program is utilizing creative techniques to improve access to high-quality specialty and primary care for youth with epilepsy. As New England’s largest safety net hospital, BMC serves a primarily medically underserved population experiencing high health disparities. We are looking for two AmeriCorps VISTA members who are interested in overcoming health disparities, improving clinical care, working with children and youth, media development and/or neuroscience. Applicants should be highly motivated, collaborative, proactive, and organized, with excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to work with a wide range of social, racial, and ethnic populations.
Our Health Education VISTA will work closely with providers to create materials for families and patients, including webinars and website content, as well as further develop our podcast series, Epilepsy Voices. They will also assist in creating material for quality improvement campaigns within Boston Medical Center. Our Program Development VISTA will assist in improving our clinic volunteer and research team.
