If you are a science major, thinking about going to graduate school, and looking for research experience, consider applying to the Initiative for Maximizing Student Development program. IMSD is an NIH-funded program based in the Biology Department, which aims to prepare undergraduate students for PhD-level research careers in the biomedical sciences.  The program offers students research opportunities, mentoring, workshops that teach research-related skills, opportunities to attend conferences, support in applying to graduate school, and other career development experiences.  IMSD also provides programs for the entire science community at UMB.
