One issue I am interested in pursuing is how we can be more inclusive in the classroom to those who have learning disabilities such as dyslexia, ADHD, dyspraxia, amongst others. I think it’s important to welcome diversity, and find ways to be inclusive. This way we can create safe spaces as well as learn from each other! This is understudied in classes because often times we shift our focus to other resources we can provide instead of addressing the issue ourselves.
Another issue I would like to explore is how visual components can be implemented into learning. I wonder if visuals facilitate the process of learning, if so, how much, and what is the impact that this can have on learning? This issue is important because visuals allow for individuals to absorb information quickly and help with memory. It is understudied in the classroom because we often forget or disregard the positive effect visuals can have on the learning experience.
