The Pathania laboratory is currently seeking a full-time research laboratory technician to join our team.

As a lab technician, you will work closely with the Principal Investigator and graduate students to carry out research experiments related to Breast and Ovarian Cancer. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting mouse work, including husbandry and propagation of mice, mouse injections, and maintaining and organizing the mice catalog. Additionally, you will also be involved in molecular biology experiments, such as PCR, running DNA and protein gels, immunofluorescence studies, and cell culture with human cell lines.

Other responsibilities include managing lab reagent supplies and occasionally working with and training undergraduate students. The position is for one year with an initial commitment of 40 hours per week, with the possibility of continuation. The salary range is between $18.00 to $24.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and previous experience. This is an hourly non-benefited appointment.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, or a related field, as well as previous experience with mouse work and molecular biology techniques. The successful applicant will also possess excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
