On Monday November 18th, 2024 (4-6 pm), the UMass Boston College of Education & Human Development and the Labor Resources Center & Labor Studies Program co-hosted a panel of educators where they discussed how they teach about the 50th anniversary of desegregation busing in Boston. Part of the Boston Desegregation and Busing Initiative series.

LESSON PLANS

Below are K-12 lesson plans that were developed by elementary and secondary education students at UMass Boston to commemorate the 50th anniversary of desegregation busing in the Boston Public Schools. We hope these will be helpful for teachers at all grade levels in teaching about this important historical event and ask you to share these resources with others.
