Sixteen of us left Boston last night with only 26 pieces of luggage. We left at 9:30 at night. It was the last dark night we will see until August. Here is a picture of the sunrise over Southern Greenland. The sun rose about midnight as we moved north towards the artic circle. Greenland is icy and Iceland is green.

It takes a lot to get equipment and 25 people to Northern Iceland for 7 weeks. Doug Bolender, shown here and I have been packing for a week. Looks like we will have 11 boxes of equipment, in addition to our own stuff. The airport on Saturday night will be a little messy.
