Current Research

May 2024: I will be attending the The National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT) conference in Kansas City, Missouri. Hope to see you there!

February 2024: our research paper was accepted to the IEEE Black Issues in Computing Education (BICE) symposium. Co-researchers Michael and Gaius successfully presented it at the conference.

Our multipart Broadening Participation in Computing plan was approved by the National Science Foundation, and research is underway with generous funding from the Trotter Institute.

Co-Researchers for the initial project, A1a part 2, include Funda Durupinar and Daniel Haehn. The resulting research paper, entitled “Just let me”: Experiences of Historically Marginalized Students in the Computer Science Department at an Urban Public University is currently in development.
