Thank you BICE 2024 and the Trotter Institute!

Our research paper, “‘Just let me’: Experiences of Historically Marginalized Students in the Computer Science Department at an Urban Public University,” co-authored by Funda Durupinar and Daniel Haehn, was accepted to the IEEE Black Issues in Computing Education (BICE) symposium and was presented at the conference there in February 2024. The paper was a result of participatory action research, and as such, research participants Gaius Dukuly and Michael Agbesi presented the project at the conference. We are all very grateful for the support our research received with generous funding from the Trotter Institute.

Undergraduate students Gaius and Michael present their research at the Black Issues in Computing symposium.
