Academic Policies *

University Policy on Incomplete Grades​

  • You must be able to complete the remaining assignment without retaking the course
  • Must be arranged with Professor prior to end of semester 
  • Agreement must be documented and signed by student and faculty (with a copy to Charles Ruberto)

Full Time and Part Time Course Load​

  • Maximum course load is 12 credits
  • Full Time is 9 or more credits
  • Part Time is 8 or fewer credits
  • For each 3 credit course plan to dedicate 10 hours of time per week

GPA Requirement of 3.0​

  • Cumulative GPA must be 3.0 or higher in order to graduate

Statute of Limitations Policy​

  • You must complete the coursework for this program within 5 years

Late Registration Fee​

  • Avoid this fee by registering by the deadline each semester
  • Register for classes in WISER. Please contact the Registrar’s office, or Gerontology staff if you have any trouble.
  • Timely registration also helps us avoid cancelling classes do to low enrollment.

Readmission and Continuous Registration – Matriculation Policy​

  • If you do not register for a class (Spring and Fall semesters), you must maintain your status as a matriculated student by registering in WISER for the program fee course (CAS 600) and paying the program fee (find the form here). You can return the program fee form to readmit@umb.edu

Leave of Absence​

  • Requires approval of GPD
  • Complete the Leave of Absence form 
  • Must register in WISER for the program fee course (CAS 600) and pay program fee each Spring and Fall semester to remain matriculated​ (See above)
