Media Box for N800 is a Must Have

Now My N800 without dual-boot runs smoothly.
It seems to run faster than previous version of OS with dual-boot.
The battery also can stay longer.

But, that is not the point for this Blog Entry.

The good thing I would like to share is about a media App on N800.

I used Canalo2 for a long time. Currently, I am using MediaBox.

It is faster and lightweight. I really like the user-interface of MediaBox.
I can adjust the volume by using zoom-in/out buttons.
I can switch to the song detail mode by pressing full screen button.

I can listen to FM. I can show the photo picture.
And the best is the tons of SHOUTcast station.

So far, it is my most used application on N800.

os2008 43-7 Dual Boot Problem

I just realized that my N800 cannot be installed any programs after upgrading to os2008 43-7.
I believe it happens because of dual-boot.

Without carefully thinking, I went to flash booting and upgrade the OS in flash partition.
As you can imagine, the dual-boot menu has been wiped out.

Now, I have very fresh N800 (none of useful applications in the flash partition).

I may decide to strictly boot with flash partition from now on.

The next problem is since the size of flash is very limited, how to install applications on the internal memory.

🙁

N800 OS2008 Update-2

New Update for OS2008 Diablo is 36-5 (the last update was 30-2).
I just updated the OS this morning.
After that, the dual boot does not work. 🙁

I have to do inifs_flasher again, maybe…

How can I have both dual-boot and new OS version?
Um……..

[updated] It is working now. This is how:
install update on SD –> boot on flash –> get new initfs_flash –> run initfs_flash –> boot to SD

In control panel – about product — It shows “Version 4.2008.36-5”.

Everything works fine.
Great!
