Tomorrow, we ride.

August 28, 2012

I’ve spent the past 6 months or so in denial. I’ve earned a spot to be a part of a fabulous program called Capitol Semester offered by The FUNd for American Studies – this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance that will allow me to play in the big leagues (…of Washington) and really get my feet wet as a professional human being. I’m going to be living in the heart of DC from Wednesday until December 8th, interning at the US Department of the Treasury, and taking three very intense classes. I’m really not sure what to expect, but know already that I will be quick to recommend this program to any student interested in American Studies, political science, history, economics, or journalism.

The application process was surprisingly easy and very quick! I submitted my application and not even a week later I received a decision. I ran into some red tape in the financial aid aspects, but everything worked out…and now here I am! It is now the eve of my departure and everything is so surreal. This blog will document my travels, adventures, and struggles from a professional and highly appropriate point of view. Wether you’re a student thinking about doing a program similar to this or someone I paid to read this blog, enjoy!
