Today we did a group exercise, focusing on the Magnificent 7 (aka the tech maybe-monopolies) companies-Alphabet/Google, Amazon, Apple, Meta/Facebook, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Tesla . Each group analyzed one of these companies and briefly presented their learning to the class. For more about tech monopolies, check out the episode below of Last Week Tonight. And the questions we answered for each were as follows:

1. What is their product?
2. How much Revenue/Profit do they make?
3. What MIS systems do they have to support their business?
4. What is their competitive advantage?
5. Who are their competitors? Any barriers to entry for them?
6. Are they a disruptor? First Mover?
7. What issues have they faced – what was their response?
8. Are they a monopoly? Should they be broken up?
