Dear Dr. Carilli,
I read an article about Monica Velez-Ortiz a Puertorican grad student that conducted paleoecological studies in New Zeland. I am the Director of the Puerto Rico Coastal Zone Management Program and serve as Coordinator of the Puerto Rico Climate Change Council.
There might be an opportunity to collaborate with UMass in fields related to coastal erosion, as well as climate and sea level changes. Below please find two web sites where we have published and made available various reports and the results of coastal inundation modeling, vulnerability assessments, and visualization tools, among other, that could also serve to support Monica’s research:
Puerto Rico Climate Change Council:
http://www.pr-ccc.org (I recommend to access the State of the Climate report and the Vulnerability visualization tool)
Caribbean Regional Ocean Partnership

(I recommend to explore the Marine Planner)
